The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support a new study examining the educational and long-term health outcomes of children with Hirschsprung disease using the ECHILD database and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Data Research Environment (GOSH DRE).

Funded through an NIHR Research for Patient Benefit award, the project will investigate how children with Hirschsprung disease differ from their peers in educational attainment, school support needs, hospital admissions and mortality outcomes from childhood into adulthood. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team using linked administrative health and education data to generate evidence that can inform clinical practice, educational support and policy.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for researchers with expertise in epidemiology, statistics, public health, health informatics or data science to work with one of the UK's most valuable linked child health research resources. Experience in analysing longitudinal datasets, data linkage and statistical programming in R or Stata will be essential.

Based at UCL GOS ICH in London, the role is available on a hybrid basis and is funded until 30 September 2028 in the first instance. Applications close on 17 August 2026.
