Meet the Management Team

  • Katie Harron

    Professor of Statistics and Health Data Science

    Katie is the academic lead for ECHILD at UCL. She supervises a number of projects and students working with the data.

  • Ruth Blackburn

    Senior Research Fellow

    Ruth is the deputy lead for ECHILD and primarily works on studies of mental health.

  • Ruth Gilbert

    Professor of Clinical Epidemiology

    Ruth helped establish ECHILD and co-leads the NIHR Children and Families Policy Research Unit.

  • Milagros Ruiz Nishiki

    Data Resource Manager

    Milagros supports researchers in accessing and using the database while overseeing information governance, data access processes, stakeholder engagement, and resource management.

  • Vincent Nguyen

    Data Scientist

    Vincent's role is to manage the large datasets as part of ECHILD. His research interests include using linked administrative data for causal inference research in public health. 

  • Difei Shi

    Research Assistant

    Difei contributes to the ECHILD website and code list repository. She uses ECHILD to explore early years environments and children's health as part of the CHILI Hub, and the outcomes of children born to mothers with social care experience.

    Niloofar’s research investigates how the school environment, including building characteristics, indoor air quality, and thermal comfort, affects children’s and adolescents’ health and school attendance.
